FOUND!

FOUND! One blue sock in the foot of a sleeper! That darn blue sock has been missing since before William was born! Hurray!

Giggles?

Well, the big news here is that we think William is starting to giggle and laugh out loud. He did it once for me yesterday and I was so surprised I started second guessing myself about whether I heard it or not. Today, he did it 3-4 more times - so I'm calling it good enough to be recorded! It is so funny when he gets going. I start laughing, which makes him laugh, which makes me laugh harder, which makes him laugh, which...you get the idea. John got to see/hear it today too which was lots of fun for us.

William got to play more in his exersaucer which he really REALLY loves. It is so fun to watch him play and get so excited. Well, we are off to try and put the little guy down a little earlier tonight. He has been kind of crabby this evening and hasn't napped much today.

Feelin' Better

We're much better than yesterday. William slept all night again in his crib and woke up pretty happy. He still was a little fussy and crabby today, but much better than yesterday. We kept up with the Tylenol and just hung around the house. I got more unpacking done and a lot of laundry done - that was a good thing. We also tried out William's exersaucer for the first time. He really liked it, but I was worried about leaving him in it for very long because he isn't quite tall enough...that shouldn't be a problem for very long!

William enjoyed playing in his exersaucer for a few minutes today. He is strong enough, but only his tip toes touch the ground - so he only stayed in it for a few minutes at a time

WAH!

Although these are his initials, William doesn't do a whole lot of crying...except for today. We had our 2 month doctor visit and it was HORRIBLE. Okay, it wasn't that bad until we got 4 shots and 1 oral immunization. We got the DTP, Polio, Haemophilus, Hepatitis B, and Rotateq. William was all smiles and talking to the doctor which was cracking us all up. He weighed in at 15 pounds and 12.75 ounces - a little less than I thought. He is measuring at 26 inches long and his head circumference was 42 cm. So, in the last 5 weeks between appointments William has changed:

Weight: Gained 5 pounds
Length: Gained 3.75 inches
Head Circumference: Gained 2.5 cms

All in all the doctor is quite pleased with his gains. She said if she didn't know when he was born, she would guess he was between 4-5 months old based on his size. According to statistical charts, he is 1 standard deviation above the 95%ile. She was surprised to find he is sleeping through the night and not requiring any formula supplementation based on how fast he is growing.

...and then there were the shots. They did them 2 at a time into his thighs. Poor baby...he was smiling and cooing at the nurses (who I noticed wouldn't look into his eyes -meanies) when he got stuck and went into all out shrieking. When the second round of 2 shots were put in, he went up a decibel and then actually cried without making any noise...and did make tears. As did mommy :( He has been pretty clingy and fussy for the rest of the evening and has been sleeping on and off. We just took his temp and it is just below 100 degrees. My poor little guy! Hopefully, he can sleep good tonight and feel better tomorrow. I need to get back to my job of cuddler and kisser...

goodnight,

All night in my crib!

Not entirely surprising, William slept all night long in his crib! He went down about 10:30 and woke up about 8:30am. Nice job! Now all I have to worry about is the doctor appointment today at 1:30 and getting some laundry done... Here are some of the Easter pictures!

Home again, home again, jiggity jig

Well, we made it home again. William was amazing in the car again. I know he is not thrilled to be in his carseat, but he did a great job. He only slept 2 1/2 hours of the 7 hour trip and didn't cry at ALL! What a good boy! The rest of the time he looked at books, ate, and played with me. We rolled in about 9:30pm, unloaded the car and gave William a bath so he could play for a little while before going to bed.

Another big first tonight: he is sleeping in the crib! WAH! Where is my tiny baby? He has been consistently sleeping from 10ish to 8ish every night for the last 3 weeks or so...so we decided not to even unpack the travel crib and put him into his "big boy bed" (his crib). We'll see how he does come morning, but so far so good for now.

We had a wonderful Easter (a wonderful week home with everyone!)! We got up looked at William's Easter basket and went to church with the McGarry's. After church, Grandpa grilled hamburgers and we had a great lunch with Kaye, Scott, Grandma and Grandpa McGarry. We took some pictures - I'll post them tomorrow when I get to that bag of stuff to unload. I have a lot of work do to tomorrow. Tomorrow is also the dreaded 2 month doctor appointment. William is going to get 4 shots I think :( Wish us luck, I am looking forward to seeing how much he will weigh in at!

goodnight,

Busy Boy & 10 Weeks Old! (LONG POST)

We have been so busy, I haven't put new pictures up on our website for a few days! A lot has gone on! The best place is to start at the beginning... So, on Thursday, Andrea Sanford brought her two boys over to play! They are almost 5 and 2 now (correct me if I am wrong). We had a nice visit and William loved watching the "big boys" play. We had so much fun that William needed a nap by the end of the morning!

Thursday evening we went to have dinner at the Gaedke's. We had lasagna, salad, rolls and some kind of blueberry dessert! The dinner was wonderful and it was great to see the Baumgards/Gaedke's again. William was amazing during dinner. Usually, he fusses and one of us ends up holding him through dinner time. However, I put William down on his blanket with a few things to look at and he was wonderful. He hung out by himself ALL through dinner and dessert too! I was amazed...until I discovered William was probably watching TV and then I was even more amazed! After dinner, I thought he might be watching TV and confirmed it when I gave him a bottle and he kept trying to turn his head and look at the TV. Either that or he was amazed at the size of the Gaedke's huge TV!

William and his godmother Jessica (see... he isn't crying!)

When we got home from dinner, John was back! William was so happy to see his daddy again (daddy was happy too!)

On Friday, we went to visit Grandpa Heidt for lunch at Valentino's. After lunch, my friend Robyn came over with her baby, Jacob. Jacob is such a cutie with a great smile! He is 7 months old now and he can do so many things! William had a great time watching Jacob roll around on the floor and then tried out Jacob's bumbo before crashing and taking a nap. We suspect William and Jacob are about the same size as they are wearing about the same size clothes and diapers...what happened to my tiny baby?

Jacob, William and Kelly's hands - we think they might be about the same size! William can't be bothered to wake up for this picture!

Jacob and William -who is longer? (answer: Jacob, by a little!)

Friday was also the day William turned 10 weeks old. We dressed him up in a North Dakota Fighting Sioux (grandma and grandpas' college) outfit for his official 10 week picture. I was relieved to see that it is HUGE on him as it is a size 4T! We went out to eat with Aunt Kaye and Grandparents McGarry. When we got back home, we colored Easter eggs with William to celebrate his first Easter! William helped a little, but we did most of the work! See? We've been busy!

Today we are helping to redo another bedroom at the McGarry's house - it is fun to work on someone else's house for a change! We plan on getting together with Grandpa Heidt, Mike and Tien for dinner tonight - it will be nice to see everyone a little bit more before we head home tomorrow!
