Hurray!

Great news! Uncle Mike (McGarry) will be coming home for a visit! He (according to mom) is coming to Rochester on April 29th and staying for 2 weeks! Now we just have to figure out when we will be traveling to meet the final uncle... did I mention we are excited? As soon as we figure out our travel plans, I will post them here and then make reservations at the McGarry Inn or Heidt Hotel.

Friends!

Today William and I were invited to have lunch with some of the women I work with who are on Spring Break. It was fun to see some babies and catch up with my great coworkers and friends. We visited at Stevenia's house before going to eat at the Blue Sky. We had a great time! What I want to know is who decided that it would be 30 degrees during "spring break"? In other news, William has been rolling over a LOT today! We haven't seen this trick very much lately. I think he was inspired by Jacob and Connor in the last week to keep working on his rolling over.

FOUND!

FOUND! One blue sock in the foot of a sleeper! That darn blue sock has been missing since before William was born! Hurray!

Giggles?

Well, the big news here is that we think William is starting to giggle and laugh out loud. He did it once for me yesterday and I was so surprised I started second guessing myself about whether I heard it or not. Today, he did it 3-4 more times - so I'm calling it good enough to be recorded! It is so funny when he gets going. I start laughing, which makes him laugh, which makes me laugh harder, which makes him laugh, which...you get the idea. John got to see/hear it today too which was lots of fun for us.

William got to play more in his exersaucer which he really REALLY loves. It is so fun to watch him play and get so excited. Well, we are off to try and put the little guy down a little earlier tonight. He has been kind of crabby this evening and hasn't napped much today.

Feelin' Better

We're much better than yesterday. William slept all night again in his crib and woke up pretty happy. He still was a little fussy and crabby today, but much better than yesterday. We kept up with the Tylenol and just hung around the house. I got more unpacking done and a lot of laundry done - that was a good thing. We also tried out William's exersaucer for the first time. He really liked it, but I was worried about leaving him in it for very long because he isn't quite tall enough...that shouldn't be a problem for very long!

William enjoyed playing in his exersaucer for a few minutes today. He is strong enough, but only his tip toes touch the ground - so he only stayed in it for a few minutes at a time

WAH!

Although these are his initials, William doesn't do a whole lot of crying...except for today. We had our 2 month doctor visit and it was HORRIBLE. Okay, it wasn't that bad until we got 4 shots and 1 oral immunization. We got the DTP, Polio, Haemophilus, Hepatitis B, and Rotateq. William was all smiles and talking to the doctor which was cracking us all up. He weighed in at 15 pounds and 12.75 ounces - a little less than I thought. He is measuring at 26 inches long and his head circumference was 42 cm. So, in the last 5 weeks between appointments William has changed:

Weight: Gained 5 pounds
Length: Gained 3.75 inches
Head Circumference: Gained 2.5 cms

All in all the doctor is quite pleased with his gains. She said if she didn't know when he was born, she would guess he was between 4-5 months old based on his size. According to statistical charts, he is 1 standard deviation above the 95%ile. She was surprised to find he is sleeping through the night and not requiring any formula supplementation based on how fast he is growing.

...and then there were the shots. They did them 2 at a time into his thighs. Poor baby...he was smiling and cooing at the nurses (who I noticed wouldn't look into his eyes -meanies) when he got stuck and went into all out shrieking. When the second round of 2 shots were put in, he went up a decibel and then actually cried without making any noise...and did make tears. As did mommy :( He has been pretty clingy and fussy for the rest of the evening and has been sleeping on and off. We just took his temp and it is just below 100 degrees. My poor little guy! Hopefully, he can sleep good tonight and feel better tomorrow. I need to get back to my job of cuddler and kisser...

goodnight,

All night in my crib!

Not entirely surprising, William slept all night long in his crib! He went down about 10:30 and woke up about 8:30am. Nice job! Now all I have to worry about is the doctor appointment today at 1:30 and getting some laundry done... Here are some of the Easter pictures!
